Definition
Specialized Assets are categories such as government furnished equipment, Internet of Things devices, operational technology, and test equipment. At Level 1 they are outside the assessment scope and carry no documentation requirement.
You do not assess these devices at Level 1. Knowing they are excluded keeps scope from growing beyond what the requirement actually covers.
