Definition
Scope is the set of assets that process, store, or transmit Federal Contract Information. Those in-scope assets are what a Level 1 self-assessment covers.
Getting scope right is the most common place Level 1 self-assessments go wrong. Under-scoping, missing a system that touches FCI, is the usual failure. Scope is a boundary decision the customer makes.
